400 empty cans, a crappy PA, mice feces and natural lighting are the conditions under which Cry To the Blind
built their heady, propulsive modern rock sound, and I'll take it. On their debut full length CD, From Confl ict
to Clarity, they drop kick their positive message with a potency that's hard to match. Soaring vocals, soul stir-
ring lyrics and awe-inspiring musicianship carry this album from start to fi nish. There is no snivelling in Jon
Lamanna and Jesse Maty's driving emotional delivery on vocals, and Jason Telarico's provocative drumming
with impressive, dead-on timing help to envelop the band in a tenacious morsel of dangerous intensity. Fans
of Coheed and Cambria, and System of a Down will thoroughly enjoy this album. High points of the album
include "Last Goodbye" and the heart string pulling "We Don't Wanna Be Here". Straight-forward, heavy and
delicious, this is what happens when you DON'T let fear dictate how you dream.
