Chucky: Hmm, that's a tough one, a lot
of standouts...Lemmy was cool as hell.
I mean the guy's so cool he walks into a
room and the whole mood of the room
just gets dirty ...hahahaha...it's awesome,
ya know, he was wicked cool...all the guys
were wicked cool! Got to meet Bill Ward
and that was amazing to me...BLACK SAB-
BATH! That was probably the biggest
"wow", I mean BILL WARD! Hehehe, ya
know what I mean? That would probably
be the biggest standout.
Hop: James (Ledyard), wants to know
what do you think the future of music
holds for bands from Central New York?
Chucky: Uh oh...hahaha...The future for
any band now is unclear. There's no re-
cord deals any more, really, people don't
buy records anymore so how are the la-
bels going to make money? And whoever
comes up with the answer to that ques-
tion's going to be a billionaire, ya know?
This iTunes stuff, digital is the way to go
but how do you get it so people aren't
going to steal it and how do you make
money off it? Cuz people can download
it then put it on another site for free...
Hop: The digital dilemma...
Chucky: Yeh, it's tough. And bands from
Central New York, Syracuse...hahaha...
these bands need to get their heads outta
their asses, they're not fukkin' rock stars,
ya know? People don't go out to see local
music. Why? There's a handful of bands
doin' it, and nobody does promotion, be-
sides you guys...you guys and Nick Fuocco.
He always has people at his shows cuz he's
out handing out flyers and talking to peo-
ple. These other bands, ya know they put
a couple of messages on Myspace or Face-
book and think that's promotion. It's not.
And if people don't get their fukkin' heads
outta their asses...it looks really dim.
Hop: This next one's from Marcus, actu-
ally it's a five part question...
Chucky: From Marcus? Hahaha...
a) Your craziest tour story without getting
anyone in trouble:
Chucky: Without getting anyone in trou-
ble...hahaha...well we were in Madison,
sitting there hangin' out, our first tour,
ya know, we're like "come on up to our
room and hang out" ya know, to these
chicks from the motel, these two big girls.
Fukkin' Joe passed out drunk and they
were molesting Joe. So I'm sleeping in
the van and there's Joe, he's up against the
wall and yells "Chucky, Chucky, open the
door" so I get up and open the door of the
van and here comes Joe running across in
his fukkin' boxer shorts, across the fukkin'
parking lot, full speed up over the top of
me into the back of the van. I go "what's
going on" and he told me what was going
on...hahahaha...that's without getting Joe
in trouble...hahahaha.
b) Your favorite band to tour with and
why:
Chucky: Favorite band to tour with was
Brand New Sin, it's my brothers, they're
my family, I mean I like the guys from
Bobaflex a lot, I love those guys, but be-
ing with all my boys from my hometown,
it was different when you grew up with
people. You know, the guys from Motor-
head took great care of us, Type O Nega-
tive and Mushroomhead, they did too.
Chucky: Ok, first of all I wanna say that
I don't think that I'm the man, hehehe,
back when I was drinking, hahaha, it was
a different story. But with Jamus Breed I
just kept going out to the bars and seeing
them live, and they kept getting crammed
down my throat. Eventually I started to
dig the music and got to know the guys
and got real tight with them and became
family with them. Still friends with all of
them today. But I guess just hangin' out
and getting shit faced, at Styleen's, is how I
got hooked up with Jamus Breed.
d) Who do you look up to?
Chucky: Who do I look up to? I look up
to my best friend Donny, who, no mat-
ter how many times he's gotten in trouble
and life's knocked him down, he's gotten
back up and he pulls himself up by his boot
straps and doesn't let life get him down.
Ya know? I look up to people, like I said,
that no matter what life throws them, it's
not gonna stop `em. People in the indus-
try I look up to would be people like Doc
McGhee, people who have been in this
business for however many years and are
still on top. No matter what changes, they
are still on top of their game, ya know? I
look up to anybody who's willing to work
hard, I don't know how else to explain it...
when life gets ya down you pick yourself
back up. Those are the kind of people I
look up to. It'd be easy to say I look up to
the guys in the bands but that ain't nothin'
to me cuz those people do that as their
lifestyle. It's the people who have to get
up and go to work every-fukkin-day, doin'
the things I couldn't do, and anybody in
our military.
e) Who do you sees as the next "you".
Chucky: Tahahaha...I don't wish that on
anybody! Hahahaha...hmm...the next
me? I don't know...hahaha...it's hard to
say. How many other people are willing
to throw their life away for twenty years
before they get a fukkin' clue? I did the
music business and I did a lot of it to run-
away and get drunk and hide from my
problems. To realize now, looking back
after 4 years without a drink....I threw a
lot of my life away, know what I mean?
But, ah, the next meee, I guess would be
the most retarded, drunk person you ever
fukkin' met, with a really bad attitude and
a cool job, hahaha, so Trandon it might be
you! HAHAHAHAHA....poor bastard!
Hop: Allison (Allison Wonderland) says
"I love Chucky Luv! Nicest scary lookin
guy ever! Haha."
Her question: "You've stage managed for
so many different artists in different genres
of music. What would you say was the
most interesting/eventful show to manage
and why?
Chucky: Well, K-Rockathons are always
interesting and eventful, Nikstocks are al-
ways interesting and eventful...haha...but
I'd have to say again Brand New Sin at K-
Rockathon. It just tops the heap.
Hop: Wendy Schimdt (Back Stage Pass)
wants to know, "Who would you say
would be your "dream band" to roadie
for?"
Chucky: Motley Crue 1988, no doubt.
Hop: no hesitations there...
Chucky: Hahahaha, done!
Hop: From Alisa (Agonygrrl)...Who was
the coolest and uncoolest band you've
ever met and why?
Chucky: Coolest band, obviously putting
Brand New Sin aside, that's my family so
it's unfair, you know what I mean? I'd
say the Bobaflex guys. They are just as
fucked up as I am. I love those guys to
death. I met `em with Soil and I instant-
ly fukkin', after like the fifth show, fell in
love with the band. Then I got to know
the guys and we have a lot of the same is-
sues, hahaha. I've just become family with
those guys, they're cool to hangout with.
There's no egos...well there are but they
don't flash `em at me like "well you work
for us", there's none of that shit cuz I'd tell
ya to go fuck yourself, pack my shit and go
home, ya know? But those guys I fukkin'
love to death.
Most uncool band....wow...I'd have to say
fukkin' The Cult. Those guys just were so
prima-donna, I understand they made a
lot of noise back in the day but you aren't
selling out venues anymore. We only did
six or seven shows on that last Jager tour
with Brand New Sin. Well their posters
were pink, hahaha, first of all, hahaha, but
the bands who were on tour with them
weren't allowed to go back to the dress-
ing rooms once they were done. Once
they were done and their gear was off the
stage, they weren't allowed to go back
there. There was no interaction with the
band. Bands like that can go fuck them-
selves. I can understand you wanna lock-
down spots but these bands are on tour
with you for six fukkin' weeks, let them go
back to the dressing rooms. That's where
they keep all their shit. These guys [the
other bands] are in a van and they're in a
bus. So that dressing room is a lot more
important to them. Fuck them...FUCK
THE CULT!
Hop: Ok, from Paul (Station 58)...
Chucky: Hehehehahaha
Hop: He says ask him:
a) "How he got the scar on his hand from
when he was a kid..."
Chucky: I was in the fourth grade and my
grandfather passed away. I was having a
hard time with it and went to punch the
door in the hallway in front of my house,
and I missed the door and punched the
