Skulltoboggan came ripping out of
Worcester, Mass. in August of `98. De-
livering a fresh new sound that brought
rebirth to the meaning of sex, drugs
and rock'n roll all over again. They
signed with Dirtnap Entertainment in
2000 and have been branding fans
with their sound all over the map ever
since. Their twisted, hard rock/metal/
punk sound is unforgettable and will
leave you begging for more. Dan-
gerous, fierce and full of energy, this
band's got what it takes to get you off
your bar stool and out there with the
crowd. I recently had the opportuni-
ty to do an interview with front man
Craig Steven "G*Spawt" Gaumond.
This guy has plenty of good shit up his
sleeve...and he's pulling some of it out
for you T&D fans to read.....
T&D- Who are the mad geniuses cur-
rently rock'n in Skulltoboggan?
Craig Steven "G*Spawt" Gaumond
Lead Vocalist
Eric "E-Dawg" Corbett Bass Gui-
tar, Backing Vocals
Jefferson "O-Ring" Bourguignon
Lead Guitar
Rob "Dexx" Dexter Drums
Tommy "T-Bone" Ward Guitar,
Backing Vocals
T&D- How would you describe the
band in your own words?
Craig- "The Bottom Heavy
Groove That Makes Your Ass
Move"
T&D- Where did the name come
from?
Craig- It's a sexual reference. Use
your imagination...
T&D- What and who are your influ-
ences?
Craig- Alice Cooper, Black Sab-
bath, Corrosion of Conformity,
Down, Elvis Presley, Exotic
Dancers, Goldschlager, Hunter
S. Thompson, Hustler, Iggy
Pop, Jack Daniels, Jagermeis-
ter, Jim Beam, Kiss, Kyuss, Me-
tallica, Ministry, Motley Crue,
Pantera, Penthouse, Playboy,
Sam Black Church, Scissorfight,
The Doors, White Zombie, ZZ
Top.
T&D- What would you say is your
biggest accomplishment as a band?
Craig- Honestly, that no one in
the band has died yet!
T&D- Cheers to that! Are you guys
doing any touring or recording com-
ing up?
Craig- Yup. We'll be back in the
studio in June 2009 followed
by a tour.
T&D- Do you have a favorite venue
to play and why?
Craig- The Palladium in Worces-
ter, Massachusetts U.S.A. They
have a great staff, great sound
and the place has a great all
around feel to it.
T&D- Do you think what's going on
with the economy is having any af-
fect on the music industry?
Craig- Absolutely! We look
forward to watching things de-
velop with the Obama admin-
istration. They have quite a
big hole to dig us out of!
T&D- All great bands have kick ass
fans. Tell me a little about yours...
any shout outs?
Craig- Hell yeah! We love each
and every one of those crazy
bastards! A special shout out to
all "Skullskanks" worldwide!!!
T&D- Who writes most of the music
and where does the inspiration come
from?
Craig- It's always been somewhat
of a collaborative effort. Some-
one brings in an idea and we build
from that point. Next thing you
know, a song is born!
As for inspiration, one of us
might be inspired by a news sto-
ry ("I Witness News") or one of
us almost had their life taken by
a psychotic trailer truck driver
(Sick Fucker Redneck Trucker),
you never know what you'll get
from us!
T&D- People love that shit! What's
the most intense thing you've ever had
to face as a band (good or bad)?
Craig- Running out of booze with
not a single liquor store open.
That sucks!
T&D- Hahaha, I feel your pain on that
one! What would you say you do at
a show that makes you different from
other bands?
Craig- Hell, we're just our good
`ole selves. It's pretty simple ac-
tually. One thing we guarantee
though is this; we'll deliver an
energetic and powerful set each
and every time out. Oh and
there will be blood!
T&D- Any last words?
Craig- Happy trails to you, until
we meet again...
These guys are real, raw and in your
face in the best way possible! They'll
have your blood pumping, heart beat-
ing and leave you with a crooked smile
by the end of every set! Check out
their MySpace for more info on the
band and tour dates.
