Hey Buck, tell us about your new band
Moth Eater?
Things have been good. We are still
writing and recording new material.
We are going to be releasing a new
EP in February 2010. I am really
excited how the material is coming
together.
How does this band differ from your pre-
vious band Dirty Rig?
This material to me is so much
stronger. It really hits you in the
face. Not to bag on my last proj-
ect but this is
just a machine
that is hun-
gry for metal.
Dirty Rig got to
a point that it
wasn't about the
music. So to me
it wasn't a band
any more. This
new project is a
gang of broth-
ers. We are
all lifers for
music and the
scene. It's a
great vibe and
the music shows.
I am really ex-
cited about this
band and what
the future has
in store.
Who are the other
dudes in Moth Eat-
er?
Dave the old
drummer of Dirty
Rig is backing
shit up on the
drums of doom,
John Conley the
ex-guitarist of
Scar
Culture
(Century Media)
is ripping it up
on the Les Paul
and John Ala-
ia is fronting
the band with
some kill fuck
die vocals. The
four of us have
different musi-
cal backgrounds
but the collabo-
ration has been
amazing. We are
writing
some
mean music.
Any recordings in
the works?
We have current-
ly recorded bass and drums for the
EP. The 2 Johns are going to get
the guitar and vocal tracks done
during the middle two weekends in
November. I can't wait. These fi rst
six songs that we have recorded
will be a great fi rst impression of
where we will be heading to in the
future. I am really excited.
Gigs?
We actually just played our 6
th
show
out on the Island of Long at a place
called Fins Pub. It's a great place
and the promoters there are really
supportive of the scene. We need
more of that in this business.
What should music fans expect at a Moth
Eater show?
The shows so far have been a blast.
We love hanging out with everyone.
We are known for doing shots, chug-
ging beers and smoking God's good
green with people who come to the
shows. It's just our vibe. I love
playing music to have fun. But
when you see us on stage people are
like "HOLY SHIT". When we get off
the stage we have so many people
coming to us with a WOW look to
them. It's a great feeling. Come
on down and see for yourself but
bring your drinking shoes. LOL.
Where's the best place to check out Moth
Eater online?
We have a couple of places where
people can reach us. We are on Fa-
ceBook, MySpace and a Youtube page
with some great videos on there.
Drop by and say hello. We won't
bite ya. Promise. Beers Up!
